If you’ve got a spare 5 minutes at work to read something, might I suggest this?
It’s an article on the making of the new Darren Aronofsky (‘Ï€’ and ‘Requiem For A Dream’) film ‘The Fountain’. Sounds mighty interesting… trying to make a Sci-Fi epic without CGI.

Hiya Tubs, my main man!… you and my shorter comrade will be getting mail soon :]
Yes! I’ve been anticipating this since it was being filmed in Queensland with Brad Pitt and, I think, Cate Blanchett in 2002. It’s going to be a good couple of months for films: this, The Prestige, A Scanner Darkly (not opening down here til late November).
“…was greeted by a chorus of boos. The following night… a 10-minute standing ovation.”
danck… RTFA 😉
The big names dropped out early in the production, to be replaced by no-names such as Hugh Jackman. sheesh.

That’s what sold it for me!
bah… hung-over… must… go… to… work.
I read the f***ing article after I posted the comment 🙂 There’s also a graphic novel out based on an early version of the script. Should be interesting to compare.
Saw the flick on the weekend. It’s only showing on 2 screens in Queensland!
I loved the elegant simplicity, both visually and in the plot. The correspondences between the timelines are beautiful, if not subtle. It’s more of a poem than a feature film, really.
